After six years away from the runway, Freya Dalsjø could have come back with something loud, trend-chasing, and full of theatrical shock value. Instead, she walked back in with silk, wool, cashmere, leather, and wood—materials that speak for themselves. This was not a shout; it was a deliberate, grounded conversation between designer, garment, and wearer.
Presented on Monday, August 4th, 2026 at Nikolaj Kunsthal during Copenhagen Fashion Week, the seasonless Women’s Collection wasn’t just a return—it was a manifesto. A quiet, confident one.
The Philosophy: Slow, Deliberate, Permanent
The SS26 collection is rooted in themes of stillness and process. Every piece is anchored in craftsmanship, guided by a reverence for natural materials.
We’re talking about fabrics that carry their own voice: silk, wool, double-faced hand-sewn cashmere, sculptural leather, lacoon, horse hair, wood. No synthetics, no shortcuts. They were chosen for their tactile honesty and shaped with time-intensive techniques that give them durability, depth, and character.
You can almost hear the atelier whispering: “This will still be beautiful in ten years.”
A Palette That Lets Materials Speak
Colours move from white, ivory, and eggshell to granite, charcoal, caviar, chocolate brown, java, mahogany, and black. This is not a palette trying to impress—it’s a palette that lets each material keep its identity. The silk gleams differently from the cashmere, the leather catches light in a way only leather can.
Collaborations That Build Legacy
Leather, lacoon, and cashmere pieces were developed in collaboration with Felefasa, a distinguished producer from China’s Hangzhou region, known for generational expertise. This is a seven-year partnership built on material research and refined craftsmanship—a quiet reminder that good things take time.
The Jewellery: Architecture in Miniature
To complete the looks, directional jewellery in sterling silver and 18-carat gold, handmade in the Copenhagen atelier. Think circle earcuffs, clay rings, square cuffs—pieces that echo the collection’s balance of structure and fluidity.

Highlights include java brown lamb leather basket tops, cognac leather jackets with wenge wood buttons, chocolate brown cashmere cocoon jackets, and papyrus silk organza parachute dresses. Jewellery shifts from circular to square to clay forms, echoing the collection’s structured yet fluid aesthetic.)
The Mood of the Show
The runway was calm. No rush, no loud soundtracks—just the rhythm of clothes made to last moving past you. You could see the hours in every stitch, the weight of the fabrics, the way a hem curved because someone’s hand had trained it to.
One guest leaned over and said, “This feels like it’s made to be inherited.” They weren’t wrong.

Final Impression
Freya Dalsjø’s SS26 return is not a “comeback” in the spectacle sense—it’s a statement of values. Slow fashion, made with intent. Clothes that honour their materials. Jewellery that complements rather than competes. A seasonless wardrobe built to age beautifully.
It’s the kind of collection you don’t just wear. You live in it, and it lives with you.
